There’s more information below about how to use each type of voice recognition.
1. If your vehicle has embedded voice recognition features, you can use them by pressing and releasing the Push-to-Talk button on the steering wheel.
2. The audio system will mute and you’ll hear a voice prompt. Wait for the beep before you say a command.
3. Say what you want the system to do. You can speak naturally or in direct commands. Your vehicle touchscreen will display example commands while the voice session is active.
4. For full functionality, make sure your smartphone is paired and connected and your contact list is downloaded. Say “Pair phone” to begin the pairing process; you can also pair the phone manually using the vehicle touchscreen.
5. Say “Switch phone” to make calls from a different Bluetooth-connected phone from your paired devices list.

If you are using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, you can’t use the embedded voice recognition to ask for directions. Instead, you can use Siri or Google Assistant, if your vehicle has those features. See those instructions below.
1. If your vehicle is compatible with Siri® or Google Assistant™, you can use them to issue voice commands. To do this, press and HOLD the Push-to-Talk button until Siri or Google Assistant comes on.
2. Issue commands like you normally do when speaking with Siri or Google Assistant, like playing audio, making phone calls or asking for directions.
For some types of voice recognition, your compatible phone must be connected to the system via Bluetooth or USB.
For safety reasons, Siri requests that require a visual response on the phone screen, such as a web search, can’t be completed while you’re driving. Usually, Siri will let you know that the request can’t be completed. Also, when you’re using Apple CarPlay, your phone screen will be locked out to help minimize distractions.
First, restart your phone and reconnect to Bluetooth in your vehicle. If that doesn’t work, you may need to delete and pair again.
