When you have vehicle problems on any vehicle such as a flat tire, dead battery or low fuel, you can request Roadside Assistance using the OnStar® Guardian™ App.

Vehicle problems happen. If you have a flat tire, need a jump start, get locked out of your car or run out of gas, you can use the OnStar® Guardian™ app to get help. The OnStar Guardian app can provide service technicians with your precise location and send for the help you need. You can also get towed for an additional cost.

To request Roadside Assistance:

  1. Open the OnStar Guardian app
  2. Tap the “Roadside” button
  3. Follow the prompts to get the help you need at your location
  4. The app will send status notifications, so you can track when help will arrive

Q&As

Is the OnStar Guardian app still working if I don’t see a notification on the app?

Once you’re logged into the OnStar Guardian app, it will remain active and functional in the background until you log out, even if you close the app. If you don’t see notifications while on your drive, then once the vehicle is in a parked state, you must enable notifications for the Guardian app in the system preferences on your device.
