On average, how many trips can I take on a single charge?

Get the most out of every trip

Rest easy knowing that every Chevrolet EV is backed by an 8-yr/160,000 km* propulsion battery limited warranty. What’s more, you can help maximize your battery’s life by following these simple tips:

Regen on DemandTM*

This feature allows you to manually slow down your vehicle and converts some of the energy from your EV’s movement directly to the battery.

One-Pedal Driving*

One-Pedal Driving uses the electric motor to capture energy from the vehicle’s motion to recharge the battery and quickly slow down the car. When you need to stop suddenly in an emergency, you should still use your brake pedal.

Cabin Pre-Conditioning

When you heat or cool your vehicle while plugged in, prior to driving, it draws energy from the charging outlet rather than your battery.

Relaxed Driving

Smooth driving and gentle acceleration help optimize battery life.

Watching the Weather

Extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, can affect the battery. For ideal performance, it’s best to avoid parking outdoors — aim to keep your EV in a garage or in covered areas if possible.

Battery health tips

When living an all-electric life, the overall health of your electric vehicle’s battery should always be top of mind. To help with that, here are a few easy things to remember:

  • Charging your battery to 80% for daily use helps promote battery health and optimal regenerative braking performance
  • For longer trips, you can adjust your charge above 80% for extended range
  • Since DC Fast Charging slows down as the battery fills up, charging beyond 80% isn't recommended
  • Keep the vehicle plugged in when possible to condition the battery for optimal performance

Public charging

Charging on the go is simple. Just pull up to a Level 2 charger,* commonly available at a parking garage or store, or you can plug in at a DC Fast Charger* at certain commercial locations if you’re short on time.

Fast Charging preparation makes sure that the temperature of the battery is optimal for the full charging capacity that will be supplied by DC Fast Charging. This also ensures that the charging time will be faster since the initial minutes of the charging process won’t need to be spent preparing the battery: this will have already completed while driving to the charging station. The charge rate will be much quicker and cost less.

By using the Google built-in Mapping system, the programmed intelligence in the vehicle can automatically begin preparing the battery when your route is set to go to a DC Fast Charging Station.
