Can I use a Tesla Supercharger to charge my Chevrolet vehicle?

All GM electric vehicles can charge on the Tesla Supercharger Network. Some 19MY and 20MY Chevrolet Bolt EVs may require a software update — these owners will be contacted. The Tesla Supercharger Network will be integrated within GM’s vehicle brand apps (myChevrolet, myGMC or myCadillac mobile app) for customers to seamlessly find a charger, initiate the charge and pay for the charge.

Customers are required to have a GM-approved NACS DC adapter (purchased separately from your dealer) and a payment method saved within their vehicle brand mobile apps to seamlessly pay for future charging sessions.

What is the NACS DC adapter?

The NACS DC adapter is designed to plug into a CCS charge port inlet on the vehicle, while the other side allows for a NACS DC Fast Charger to plug in. This enables a CCS vehicle to utilize the Tesla Supercharger Network and, going forward, additional NACS DC Fast Chargers as they’re installed.

GM highly discourages use of any third-party adapters. Damage to vehicle components resulting from the installation or use of non-GM approved parts is not covered under the terms of the vehicle warranty and may affect remaining warranty coverage for affected parts.

How can I order a NACS DC adapter for my vehicle?

Customers will be able to order a GM approved NACS DC Adapter through their Parts Department at their nearest Chevrolet dealer.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call EV Chevy: 1-833-382-4389. If you’re having issues, make sure your mobile app is updated to the latest version.

Why do some NACS DC adapters look different?

To ensure GM is supporting customer demand for NACS DC adapters, the company plans on leveraging multiple suppliers to produce enough volume. While the physical appearance of the initial GM NACS DC adapters may vary, each has been developed and tested to the same standards, helping to ensure customers can charge their EVs safely and efficiently at chargers which utilize the North American Charging Standard.

How do I set up my vehicle mobile app to access the Tesla Supercharger Network?

You can set up access to the Tesla Supercharger Network through your vehicle’s mobile app menu by selecting Public Charging.
