If your vehicle has this available feature, Hitch View shows a close-up view of the trailer hitch. When in REVERSE, the view can be used to help align the vehicle with the trailer. When driving, the view can be used to check your trailer hitch. Shifting into PARK while in this view will automatically engage the Electric Parking Brake (if equipped).
1. Shift into REVERSE and select the Hitch Guidance button on the bottom of your infotainment
2. To line up your vehicle’s hitch ball with your trailer’s coupler, back up slowly. Steer to keep the single dynamic guideline aligned over your vehicle’s hitch ball and centred with the coupler of the trailer.
3. When you get close to the trailer coupler, you can select the Hitch View button (if equipped) from your infotainment system screen. Depending on your vehicle, the icon looks like a trailer hitch with a magnifying glass on top of it or a camera looking at a trailer hitch. Hitch View will bring up a zoomed-in view of your vehicle’s hitch ball and trailer coupler to help make trailer hitching easier.
4. When your hitch ball is positioned under the trailer coupler, shift into PARK and apply your parking brake. On some vehicles, when you shift into PARK while in Hitch View, the Electric Parking Brake (if equipped) will apply automatically. This keeps your vehicle from rolling forward or backward due to an incline or decline when you get out to hitch the trailer.
5. When it is safe to do so, you can check the Hitch View camera display to see the hitch connection while you’re driving forward by pushing the Camera icon on your infotainment system. On some vehicles, you can only display camera views briefly while driving.
