The Driver Information Centre (DIC) display, if equipped, is located on the dashboard and provides key information about your vehicle.


How the Driver Information Centre Works

You can adjust the Driver Information Centre (DIC) display according to your preferences. Setting these preferences varies by the type of information available for display and how the vehicle is equipped.

The 3.5-Inch Diagonal Driver Information Centre

Depending on vehicle model:

 

  • Rotate the trip odometer reset stem located in the instrument cluster to scroll through and press in the stem to reset the trip odometer or select options.
  • On the turn signal lever, use the SET/CLR button, Up/Down thumbwheel and Menu button to scroll through menu options. Use the SET/CLR button to select options.
  • On the steering wheel, press the Up/Down buttons, Left/Right buttons and Select button to scroll through menu options. Use the Select button to choose options.

The 4.5-Inch Diagonal Driver Information Centre

Depending on vehicle model:

 

  • On the turn signal lever, use the SET/CLR button, Up/Down thumbwheel, Menu button and Select button to scroll through and select options.
  • On the steering wheel, use the Up/Down buttons or thumbwheel and Left/Right buttons to scroll through options.  Press the thumbwheel, Select button or checkmark to select or deselect an item, depending on your model.

The 8-Inch Diagonal Digital Driver Information Centre

  • Find the steering wheel controls: a centre thumbwheel button and Left/Right buttons on either side.
  • Use the Left/Right buttons to scroll through display page options.
  • Roll the thumbwheel up or down to cycle through pages within the active display.
  • Press the thumbwheel or the centre Select button to select an information option.

The 12-Inch Diagonal Driver Information Centre

  • Find the steering wheel controls to begin adjusting the display.
  • Use the Left and Right arrows to move left or right between menus.
  • Use the Up and Down arrows or thumbwheel to scroll up or down in a menu, depending on your model.
  • Press the thumbwheel or Select button to select or deselect an item, depending on your model.

Information Options

Depending on vehicle model and how your vehicle is equipped, the Driver Information Centre may display information about the following items.

 

If your vehicle has the available Traction Select/Driver Mode Control feature, the way your Driver Information Centre displays this information may change depending on the drive mode you select.

 

Information options include:

  • Phone contact during a phone conversation (from a paired device)
  • Audio currently playing
  • Navigation route guidance
  • Vehicle speed, odometer, speed limit signs 
  • Trip distance with approximate fuel economy average
  • Fuel range
  • Compass
  • Timer start, stop or reset
  • Oil life
  • Tire pressure
  • Air filter life
  • Brake pad life
  • Fuel economy
  • Fuel filter life
  • Engine hours
  • Battery voltage
  • Transmission fluid temperature
  • Integrated Trailer Brake Control system, trailer gain and power output to the trailer
  • Off-road vehicle pitch and roll information, road wheel angle and 4WD status
  • Following Distance time to the moving vehicle detected ahead
  • Driver assistance: Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Alert information
  • Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) level
  • Options/Settings: Metric or imperial/U.S. units, language selection, set speed, Head-Up Display rotation, etc.
  • Launch Control: Lets you adjust your vehicle's Launch Control system. Vehicles with manual transmissions will have different options than those with automatic transmissions
  • Friction Bubble: Displays gravitational forces exerted on you as you drive
  • Boost Gauge
  • Brake Temperature
  • eLSD (Electronic Limited Slip Differential)
  • Lateral G-Force
  • Wheel Slip
  • Lap Timer
  • Performance Timer: Allows you to time the length between a starting and ending speed. On Cadillac vehicles, you can select from four pre-set speed intervals. On Corvette vehicles, you can select the start and end speeds you’d like to time

What transmission messages are shown on the Driver Information Centre (DIC)?

If there is a transmission issue that requires immediate attention, the DIC may display one of the following messages:

 

SERVICE TRANSMISSION

This message displays if there may be a problem with the transmission. See your dealer for transmission service.

 

SHIFT TO PARK

This message displays when the transmission needs to be shifted to “P” (PARK). This may appear when attempting to remove the key from the ignition if the vehicle is not in “P” (PARK).

 

TRANSMISSION HOT — IDLE ENGINE

This message displays and a chime sounds if the transmission fluid in the vehicle becomes hot. Driving with the transmission fluid temperature high can cause damage to the vehicle. Stop the vehicle and let it idle to allow the transmission to cool. This message clears when the fluid temperature reaches a safe level.
